Proof that chocolate can be improved! The extra crunch and touch of salt and smoke from bits of crispy FARMER JOHN® Thick Cut Bacon give this classic cookie an irresistible touch of awesome.

PREP Time: 6-8 min

Cook Time: 30-39 min

Servings: 24-28 Cookies


  • 1 package FARMER JOHN® Thick Cut Bacon 16 oz. (approximately 1 cup baked and chopped)
  • 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1  cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2-3 baking sheets with parchment or tinfoil.

Place bacon in even layer on one baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until crisp. Do not burn. Remove from oven and place on plate lined with several paper towels. Place more paper towels on top to soak up excess grease. Once cool, chop bacon slices into small squares, about the width of one chocolate chip. Set aside.

Reduce oven to 350 degrees F.

In bowl of electric mixer, combine butter and sugars. Beat on medium high speed using paddle for about 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat on medium speed for about one minute or until just combined.

In medium bowl, add flour and baking soda then whisk to blend. Pour flour mixture into bowl of electric mixer and mix on medium for 1-2 minutes, scraping down side of bowl as necessary, until dough is just combined. Add chocolate chips and mix on medium speed for about 30 seconds. Add bacon and mix in on medium speed for another 30 seconds. DO NOT OVER-MIX or dough will be tough.

Using an ice cream scoop, drop even amounts of dough onto clean, lined, un-greased baking sheets (a little less than 1/4 cup per scoop) about two inches apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or just until golden. TIP: If you can lift the edge with a spatula, they are likely done even if the center feels soft. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks or cool countertop to cool completely.

Store in airtight container in refrigerator for 3-4 days.

Bake bacon at 375 for 20-25 mins

Bake cookies at 350 for 10-14 minutes
