Dogs just got daring. Wrapped with FARMER JOHN® Mild Jalapeno Bacon, these FARMER JOHN® Hot Dogs take on fruit, vegetables, spice and smoke to make every bite taste like a culinary world tour in a bun.
PREP Time: 8 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
- ½ cup mango, diced
- ½ cup pineapple, diced
- 1 jalapeno, minced (more or less to taste)
- ¼ cup roasted red bell pepper, diced
- ½ cup yellow onion, diced
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 tbs. lime juice
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 4 Farmer John hotdogs
- 8 slices FARMER JOHN® Mild Jalapeno Premium Bacon
- 4 hotdog buns
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place mango, pineapple, jalapeno, red bell pepper, yellow and green onions in a small bowl, stirring gently to combine. Sprinkle with lime juice and salt, stirring to combine. Set aside.
Place bacon on a baking sheet and bake until about halfway cooked, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and transfer to paper towels to drain. Discard bacon fat.
When bacon is cool enough to handle, wrap around hotdogs and return to baking sheet. Bake until hotdogs are heated through, 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Place hotdogs in buns and spoon mango salsa over the top. Serve immediately.
