Apple Cider Glaze

Directions


  1. Ham Steak: Preheat your oven to 450°F.

  2. Ham Steak: Cut butternut squash and carrots into smaller pieces.

  3. Ham Steak: Place squash and carrots on a sheet pan, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.

  4. Ham Steak: Roast butternut squash and carrots for 30-40 minutes until tender.

  5. Ham Steak: Prepare your Mashed Potatoes and Apple Cider Glaze while roasting the butternut squash & carrots.

  6. Ham Steak: Then, heat up a cast iron pan, drizzle with olive oil and brown each side of the ham steak for 1 minute.

  7. Ham Steak: Cut ham steak into 2 servings, plate each with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and squash and top with Apple Cider Glaze.

  8. Mashed Potato: Cut & boil potatoes in salted water until fork tender.

  9. Mashed Potato: Drain water and add butter, parsley, cream and salt to the potatoes.

  10. Mashed Potato: Mash until nice and creamy. Add salt if needed.

  11. Mashed Potato: Keep warm.

  12. Apple Cider Glaze: Cut apples into thin slices, set aside.

  13. Apple Cider Glaze: In a medium stock pot on medium heat, melt butter. Then add apples to brown them, about 2 minutes. Keep stirring.

  14. Apple Cider Glaze: Add apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, 1 cinnamon bark and maple syrup.

  15. Apple Cider Glaze: Let simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce has thickened like syrup.

  16. Apple Cider Glaze: Keep warm.
