Ham Steak with Apple Cider Glaze

  • (2) packages 4oz FARMER JOHN HAM STEAK
  • 1 Butternut squash, peeled, seeded
  • 2 each medium Carrots, peeled
  • Olive oil, drizzle or more
  • 1 tsp Black pepper, ground
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Mashed Potatoes, recipe as follows
  • Apple Cider Glaze, recipe as follows

Mashed Potato

  • 4 Yukon Gold Potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Parsley dried or fresh
  • 1/2-3/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • Chili flakes if desired

Apple Cider Glaze

  • 2 Red Apples
  • 2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cups apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cinnamon Bark
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  1. Pre heat your oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Cut butternut squash and carrots into smaller pieces.
  3. Place squash and carrots on a sheet pan, drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Roast butternut squash and carrots for 30-40 minutes until tender.
  5. Prepare your Mashed Potatoes and Apple Cider Glaze while roasting the butternut squash & carrots.
  6. Then, heat up a cast iron pan, drizzle with olive oil and brown each side of the HAM STEAK for 1 minute.
  7. Cut HAM STEAK into 2 servings, plate each with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and squash and top with Apple Cider Glaze.

Mashed Potato

  1. Cut & boil potatoes in salted water until fork tender.
  2. Drain water and add butter, parsley, cream and salt to the potatoes.
  3. Mash until nice and creamy. Add salt if needed.
  4. Keep warm.

Apple Cider Glaze

  1. Cut apples into thin slices, set aside.
  2. In a medium stock pot on medium heat, melt butter. Then add apples to brown them, about 2 minutes. Keep stirring.
  3. Add apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, white sugar, salt, 1 cinnamon bark and maple syrup.
  4. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce has thickened like syrup.
  5. Keep warm.
